The starting point
Teaching materials often stay locked in books, files and individual lesson plans. My idea is to break that material into small reusable units that a teacher can arrange into an interactive lesson.
2chalks is an independent product for private teachers and online schools, with separate teacher and student experiences. Unlike the enterprise cases, I own the whole build.
Let teachers reuse materials and assemble interactive lessons.
What I did
- Designed the content workflow I designed a pipeline for importing source materials, dividing them into reusable activities, checking and enriching them, and storing them for future lessons. Teachers assemble those activities in a lesson builder, and students complete them in a separate interface.
- Designed teacher and student experiences My scope spans the teacher workspace, knowledge-base exploration, interactive lesson building, the student experience and classroom tools. Video classes and a shared whiteboard sit next to the content workflow instead of in a separate product.
- Built the architecture and software I work across Python/FastAPI services, a Next.js/React frontend, relational data, vector search, object storage, queues and deployment. AI workflows cover ingestion, OCR, processing, translation, verification and evaluation. I use AI-assisted coding to turn product and architecture decisions into working software.
- Developed and deployed the alpha I own UX, the codebase, backend and frontend, infrastructure and ongoing development. Multilingual content is planned, so materials can reach more learners without rebuilding each lesson by hand.
The outcome
A deployed alpha, with ongoing development across the interface, application code, AI workflows and infrastructure.
The product is at alpha stage. Some described capabilities are still planned or in development. Paying customers, retention and commercial demand have not yet been validated.
